The Envolve Vision Van

The Envolve Vision Van program provides mobile vision screenings for children and adults who might not otherwise receive them and promotes the importance of eye care in the community. As an Envolve client, we’ll bring our nationally recognized mobile vision clinic to you!

Doctors and technicians accompanying the van perform mobile vision screenings free of charge to patients. While we will see adults in the Vision Van and help anyone in need, children (ages 5 – 18) receive top priority for vision van services. Our Vision Van is equipped with:

  • Screening tools to test vision outside the van
  • Equipment to perform basic vision exams inside the van
  • Informational handouts about eye health and the importance of eye exams

Since the inception of the Vision Van program in May 2015, we have:

  • Traveled to more than 20 states
  • Performed more than 12,000 screenings 
  • Distributed more than 3,700 pairs of RX glasses at no cost
  • Distributed more than 4,000 pairs of reading glasses at no cost
  • Provided aid to displaced residents during natural disasters like recent hurricanes in Texas and Puerto Rico

Through the Vision Van program, Envolve is bringing much needed vision services to individuals. These services are very important to us as a company, because:

  • 4.3 billion people in the world need visual correction, and 2.4 billion people do not receive it
  • Somewhere in the world, someone goes blind every five seconds
  • By age 65, one in three Americans has some form of vision-impairing eye disease
  • People with diabetes are 25 times more likely to become blind than people without diabetes
  • Nearly three million people have glaucoma, but half do not realize it because there are often no warning symptoms
