Envolve at 2017 National Urban League Conference: Free Vision and Dental Screenings to Attendees and Community Members in St Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (July 24, 2017) – The 2017 National Urban League (NUL) Conference, July 26 through July 29 in St Louis, Missouri plays host to over 20,000 national and local attendees made up of NUL members, community leaders, young professionals and elected officials. The schedule of events is packed with sessions and activities that address the top issues and concerns of African American youth, business leaders and communities.

Among the many activities taking place throughout the course of the nearly week-long event, Envolve is a proud sponsor of the Youth Town Hall taking place at Emerson Electric Auditorium in Ferguson the afternoon of Friday, July 28. The topic is “Show Me: Turn Talk Into Action - Civic Engagement and Youth Voice” gives the youth participants an opportunity discuss the challenges they face in their lives and in their communities. The Town Hall will be moderated by David J. Johns, former executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans.

In addition, Envolve, in partnership with Centene Corporation and Homestate Health Plan, are sponsoring the Health Zone where free Dental and Vision screenings are available throughout the conference including community day which is open to the public.  

Free dental services include screenings, cleanings, fluoride varnish applications, and sealants for children when necessary. Vision screenings will also be done onsite, and if glasses are needed, children ages 18 and under can choose their frames on-site and their prescription glasses will be mailed to them free of charge! Reading glasses will also be provided to adults free of charge.

The NUL Expo spans three days and features health screenings, seminars, giveaways and a variety of activities and entertainment. Screenings will take place for registered attendees Thursday, July 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, July 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. NUL EXPO Community & Family Day takes place Saturday, July 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information about the 2017 National Urban League Conference in St. Louis, visit http://conference.iamempowered.com/saint-louis-2017.
