Pro Football Hall of Fame Names Envolve & Centene as Official Youth Wellness Partner

Date: 11/02/16

Canton, Ohio

The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Envolve, along with its parent company Centene Corporation (NYSE:CNC), officially announced a three-year partnership during an event held at the Hall of Fame today. Envolve and Centene became the “The Official Youth Wellness Partner of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”

“The Hall of Fame is honored to partner with Envolve and Centene on a program that will impact young people across the country,” Hall of Fame President David Baker commented. “Our organizations share a passion for the values that will make a difference in the lives of many.”

The partnership builds on Centene and Envolve’s Strong Youth, Strong Communities initiative (SYSC), established with Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrell Green in 2015. SYSC is an ongoing, nationwide initiative designed to equip and assist youth and youth-serving organizations across America. SYSC is locally driven, collaborating with local leaders and stakeholders in schools, government, and other social supports to facilitate success among youth and strengthen their communities.

Key components of the Hall of Fame/Centene partnership include:

  • multimedia campaigns to heighten awareness of solutions for significant issues such as bullying, mental health, nutrition and exercise;
  • expansion of the existing Hall of Fame school-based youth & education curriculum to encompass behavioral health and wellness;
  • coordinated events across the country in urban and rural communities to expand the reach of Centene’s SYSC initiative and engage an ever increasing number of youth; and
  • collaborative development of a digital platform to provide youth with a “one stop shop” for information and resources.

The Hall of Fame and Envolve/Centene conducted their first joint Youth Summit this morning at the Hall. Fifty children from the area attended the event hosted by Hall of Famers Green (Class of 2008), Anthony Muñoz (Class of 1998) and Aeneas Williams (Class of 2014). Notable guests who attended today’s announcement event included: U.S. Congressman Bob Gibbs; Dr. Dara Richardson-Heron, M.D., CEO of YWCA USA; and Pam Iorio, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
